THE CAMPANIA REGION

My favorite place where I have always stayed in for the most amount of time in my frequent visits to Italy has been a small town in the region of Salerno called Castel San Giorgio. I grew up here as a child before moving to the USA in 1961. In the town itself is a great Hotel or more correctly a Medival Palazzo.

Per il vostro giorno più b ello scegliete una cornice speciale, che possa accogliervi in un’atmosfera magica e particolare.Il Palazzo Conforti, oggi Villa Soglia, risale al ’500. ?Le prime notizie del complesso edilizio vengono rilevate in documenti notarili riguardanti una chiesa sita nel palazzo di un tal Ferrante S. Severino, principe di Salerno.
Sui resti del palazzo suddetto fu costruita nella prima metà del ’700 la residenza dei Sarno Prignano, ai quali spetta la ristrutturazione e la sistemazione del parco annesso alla villa.?Ferdinando Sanfelice fu incaricato della ristruturazione della stessa: alla sua opera si possono attribuire lo scalone monumentale, le scuderie, le sistemazioni esterne, il colonnato del viale di ingresso ed i giradini.La villa è immersa in un enorme parco che domina con imponenza l’intero casale e si sviluppa su gran parte della collina circostante con terrazzamenti a più livelli. Originariamente il parco aveva carattere non soltanto estetico ed ornamentale, ma anche produttivo; infatti è fornito di frutteti, vigneti e di un “giardino delle delizie” ricco di interessanti specie arboree, molte delle quali risalenti all’impianto originario. Valle delle Najadi
since 1957, receives its guests in the green and cool Bonea valley. It’s situated in a quiet position, about 150 m from the centre of Vietri and about 300 m from the beach; from its terraces you can enjoy the Costiera Amalfitana view. Valle delle Najadi has outdoor common spaces and a private parking inside. The apartments are independent, each being equipped and provided with a panoramic terrace. Pietro and his Uncle Vincenzo are perfect hosts and have become friends. I will put a slide shoe together of some of the photos I took on my last visit there.

Lloyd ‘s Baia Hotel

THE VENETO REGION
